As much fun as we’d been having in Busan, it was time to move on, but we weren’t quite ready to say goodbye. We parked our bags at an airport storage and caught a taxi to the Museum of Contemporary Art in Busan, were we arrived to find the military directing traffic.

The taxi dropped us in the middle of the intersection where a cute soldier motioned to us that we could NOT cross the whole 40-50 feet to the museum that was right in front of us. Instead, we had to cross to the opposite side of the street, walk forever to a crossover, cross over, and walk forever to get back to the museum where we just made it in time, a little breathless and sweaty, for our appointment in the “Rain Room” where we could run around in the rain with no umbrella and not get wet (though by then a shower might have been useful).

The rest of the day was about food. Lunch happened at an airport restaurant called PoongKyeongMaSu, and it was far better than we’d imagined airport food would be, especially the cold noodle soup!

Stacked rocks at Haedong Yonggungsa Temple.

At Jeju Island, we snagged the rental car and parked our stuff at an adorable and comfy Air BnB, complete with snacks that we immediately started nibbling away at.

Still hungry, we hurried over to Neulbom Heukdwaeji Restaurant for samgyapsal (grilled 3-layer pork), and we ate, and we ate, and we ate. Squeee! We slept like three wee little piggies that night.
