A new day dawned with fun plans and unexpected surprises. At lunchtime we took the subway to Starfield COEX Mall and met up with our friend, Yeon Ah who bought us a fabulous kalbi meal at Baekkobjib. The beef was so tender and delicious, I wanted to keep eating forever!
Next on our list of fun things was to visit the Starfield Library inside the mall and see the holiday decorations. The library is in a massive open area where anyone can go to read books in all kinds of languages, even ebooks! I’ve never seen a library like it. It is truly one of a kind.
Once we’d had our fill of taking pictures around the holiday decorations, we visited a number of mall shops and picked up more things to take home. Thank goodness it was early afternoon and not past bedtime in California, because we stopped at the TONYMOLY store so we could call home and take orders.
The mall was a lot of fun but the big surprise was a trip to the House of BTS Pop-Up Store in Gangnam! It was raining and cold, but that didn’t slow us down. We got our tickets and went to The Dal Dal for warm drinks and sweet treats while we waited our turn to stand in line.
Finally, we made it inside! There was a lot going on inside the House of BTS. The first floor was the showroom where you chose what you want and add it to a list. Then you go to a counter to pay and get a ticket to go upstairs to the second floor to pick up your items.
The third floor had rooms with adventures, a giant keyboard, a bus stop, character statues and other fun activities! And, there was even a 4th floor with a room full of pillows and pics of the boys, plus an outdoor activity that was way too wet to consider.
We left the house of BTS with big bags. The rain had made everything so bright, shiny and colorful that our walk to the subway was a pleasure! We were completely pooped but so happy for our great day out with friends.
